With the first round all over in Melbourne, we can finally gossip about all the outfits we've seen so far to pick out the do's and don'ts of the Australian Open.
Let's start off with the number one: Azarenka. I was hoping for another tough-looking short ensemble, but instead they put her into some soft yellow dress to immediately vaporize every fearsomeness she still had! Still, it's definitely not the worst, the purple headband is certainly great!
Why can't she just play in her training outfits, they are way cooler!
Okay, maybe without the ridiculous cap though.
Nike's take on this year is definitely going for yellow, and it contrasts well against the blue courts in Australia, but then again, Lisicki's and Wozniacki's outfit just unearths my craving for pudding (and trust me, you don't wanna do that!)
It's Adidas who nailed the yellow and gray outfits with Kerber.
Needs more boldness for Radwanska, either a darker red or something else than the white!
As long as it's not too many colors, Kvitova's outfit is just ... dazzling, but not in a good way. I would suggest just keeping it to the purple and orange and scratch the rest.
This time I'm not such a fan of Venus's outfit but it's possible that's just my faux-pas in fashion.
So my top three consists of Ivanovic (sorry Kerber, Ivanovic just rocks the oufit more, but I'm still not convinced of the grey in combination with the yellow though), than Na Li (it may be quite ordinary, but I just love purple and it suits her so well!) and firmly at the number one spot: Serena! It's just nicely balanced and the African-themed headband is a marvelous touch. I'm betting we'll be enjoying that outfit well into the second week of the Australian Open.
