Finally the first clay/gravel tournament of the year! I just love clay: the sliding, the incredible netplay, the frustrating reality of no hawkeye!
Let's introduce: the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
This tournament consists of two rounds, quarter final, semi's and final. It's amazing how the top 8 is competing and every German tennis player I have ever heard of! This should be very interesting, especially with this prospects:
- Azarenka v. Petkovic in the second round!
- Ivanovic, Bartoli, Barthel and Benesova competing for the other quarterfinal spot in that
draw
- Radwanska v. Na Li in the quarter final
- Wozniacki v. Jankovic already in the first round
- Another Wozniacki v. Kerber battle if she passes Jankovic
- Schiavone v. Kvitova in the second round
- Stosur v. Goerges in the second round, that must be awesome!
- And the winner of that battle will face Sharapova in the quarters.
The draw looks very promising to me, I just don't dare to say who is gonna make it to the semi's or final.
And let's not forget: PETKOVIC IS BACK! If I love clay courts, I absolutely adore Petkovic playing on them! And she had a great headstart, playing fedcup in Stuttgart and of course having a lot of fun (including stripping on court with the crowd just going wild, check out the clip below!):
The clip may be in German, but that's okay, I don't understand it either. I just love how they say: Die Andrea Petkovic strip!
